  • Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

    The Hands-On Harvest Field Trip is for grades K – 4 and small classroom lessons with barnyard activities are provided. ​​The Farm Fun Field Trip is for grades Preschool – 12 and all farm activities are open for small groups to explore on their own. Cherry Crest also welcomes homeschoolers who can enjoy the farm’s educational opportunities including butter-making demonstrations, Farm Tour Wagon rides, and problem-solving scenarios in the corn maze. 


  • Choo Choo Barn

    Bring your class to a unique attraction: The Choo Choo Barn in Traintown, U.S.A.®! The 1,700-square-foot train layout features over 150 hand-built animated figures and vehicles with 22 operating trains. Not only will you be amazed by what you see, but you’ll get a behind-the-scenes experience of how it all works. A scavenger hunt and the chance to design your own train layout round out this fun field trip experience. 


  • The Mini Horse Farm

    Bring your student group to see the Mini Horses! A field trip workshop includes grooming the animals, saddle rides, cart rides, and feeding the horses. Visiting the Stoltzfus farm, you can interact with our miniature horses, pigmy goats, alpacas, and chickens. Then, stroll through the meadows and feed the animals, smell the country air, and relax with the natural world. Come and experience farm life with the Amish owners of this remarkable place.


  • National Toy Train Museum

    Operated by The Train Collectors Association, this museum is dedicated to the preservation and history of toy trains. Featuring displays that educate on hundreds of locomotives and cars of all descriptions, your students will enjoy this rare and unusual learning experience. A Video Presentation and educational guided tour for school groups of all grade levels explores the history of toy train making in the United States. Opportunities to experience their expansive research library are also available.

  • Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania

    Experience the history of railroading in Pennsylvania through interactive lessons about what it was like to work on the railroad. Interactive exhibits of nearly 100 full-sized historic trains and railroad cars will spark excitement in children of all ages. 

    Topics covered include Engineering, Heritage, History, Industry, Transportation, and Trades. This trip supports Social Studies, Science, Engineering, and STEM classroom learning.

  • Strasburg Rail Road

    Strasburg Rail Road provides a unique opportunity for school groups to learn about local history and culture while enjoying a narrated steam train experience aboard our authentically-restored passenger cars. Our team can also work with you to create an age-appropriate boxed lunch menu for your group to enjoy in Cafe 1832 or at one of our convenient picnic groves. You can also rent out Lefever Hall which accommodates up to 60 people.

  • Verdant View Farm

    Get a glimpse into life on a real working farm! The educational tours suit adults and children and are operated by 4th generation farmers at Verdant View Farm. 

    This farm workshop will teach new skills that can be used on the farm and applied in day-to-day life. Get hands-on farm experience with the animals. Milk a cow, venture inside a chicken coop, play with goats, and learn about our homestead farm.
